Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership

The Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership is the broad decision making body for the development of services for children and young people in Wolverhampton and provides strategic direction for children and young people's services.

It brings together the Council's Children and Young People's Service, statutory health services and Learning and Skills Council. Representatives from West Midlands Police, Black Country Connexions YOT and CAMHS along with the Voluntary and Community sector are also members.

The CYPSP Vision is - All our children and young people: successful, healthy, safe and contributing to the communities where they live, learn, work and play.

To achieve this vision, the partnership has taken a strategic lead in responding to the rapidly changing agenda relating to services for children and young people.

More services are being jointly commissioned and existing models of inter-agency working are being explored.

The group has responsibility for agreeing protocols for information sharing and thresholds for intervention by agencies, as well as implementing the common assessment framework.

Another priority is to promote a culture of collective responsibility for the safeguarding of all children and young people including those who are vulnerable or at risk.
