About us

Relationships between service providers and local communities are changing.  Local people are much more discerning; they have higher expectations about the kinds of services they want; they want greater choice and much more say and involvement in decisions about how services are delivered to meet their needs.

The Local Neighbourhood Partnership (LNP) recognises the increasingly important role that neighbourhoods play in what and how services will be delivered.

The overall aim of the process is to empower local people in shaping public services and will mean more informed and engaged communities participating in decision making and working with service providers in designing, delivering and monitoring services.

What is the Local Neighbourhood Partnership (LNP)?

The LNP brings together a wide group of interested individuals, representatives of community and voluntary groups, service providers, local businesses and councillors to a meeting on a quarterly basis.  At this meeting, the Partnership highlights issues and priorities as they arise and agree actions to address these priorities.

The LNP will promote resident engagement and collaborative working, to influence service delivery, improve the quality of life for local people and reduce inequality and disadvantage in deprived / priority neighbourhoods as part of a broader commitment to creating sustainable and cohesive communities.  Click here to view minutes of previous LNP meetings

Core Functions of the LNP

The main functions of the Partnership are to:

  • Bring together partners (local councillors, individuals, and voluntary and community organisations representing people in the area) to work in partnership with service delivery organisations to influence the development of public policy and the delivery of public services in Wednesfield and Fallings Park Partnership area.
  • Operate a system of meetings, including Partnership Board meetings (where representatives are elected) and also Local Neighbourhood Partnerships meetings for a wider network, giving the opportunity for the wider community to attend meetings and raise concerns.
  • Agree and oversee the delivery of a local Neighbourhood Action Plan.
  • Monitor service delivery to the local communities and promote the improvement in these services.
  • Take part in and influence decisions being made about their area.
  • Work with and contribute to the citywide partnerships (Local Strategic Partnership - LSP) or other community involvement arrangements e.g. citywide involvement network, Community Empowerment Networks, other user - groups or interest specific groups.
