Bilston East Local Neighbourhood Partnership

 Why are we here?

The Bilston East Local Neighbourhood Partnership (LNP) is made up of local people, local businesses, service providers and Elected Members. Following on from the success of the Neighbourhood Management pilots elsewhere in the City, Bilston East now benefits from having a dedicated Neighbourhood Management Team. Working alongside them is the Neighbourhood Safety Project, which focuses on reducing crime and anti-social behaviour. Both teams are based at the Bradley Office, Bank Street, Bradley, Bilston and will serve the LNP and work in partnership to improve the quality of life for residents.

Extensive public consultations have been carried out to identify what residents see as issues of concern. From this an action plan has been developed that all service providers including the Police, Primary Care Trust and City Council departments will be responsible for delivering.

If you would like any further information on the action plan or would like to be involved with the partnership please contact the Bilston East LNP office on 551760.

The Bilston East team:

Anwar Ulhaq & Mary Jacobs (Neigbourhood Managers)
Sunita Sanji (Administration Officer)
John Goalby (Neighbourhood Partnership Officer)
Steve Poole (Community Development Worker)
Lisa Parmar (Neighbourhood Safety Co-ordinator)

A quick word from Bilston East Local Neighbourhood Partnership Chairperson:

“The spring and summer of 2007 have been a productive time for everyone involved in our Bilston East Neighbourhood Partnership. Local people, Council Officers, local voluntary and community organisations, Ward members and Service providers have come together on numerous issues and projects. Together we have taken action to improve community safety, community facilities, reduce the impact of traffic from development sites, clean up open spaces, as well as increase activities for children and young people in schools and youth clubs.

This newsletter highlights a number of occasions when local partners have cooperated to improve local life and in particular to provide an enjoyable summer for children and families.

I hope the new notice boards placed around the Ward will keep you better informed on the actions, and meeting times of the Bilston East LNP. Please comment back to your Elected Members and the LNP team in Bank Street, and come out and take part in local decisions that affect your family and neighbourhood.”

Cllr Louise Miles, Chairperson of Bilston East Local Neighbourhood Partnership (LNP).
